Brain Party Launches 2008 Innotech Oregon Season

2008 InnoTech Oregon presented by EasyStreet and SAO
By Sean Lowery, InnoTech executive director

April 16-17, 2008
Oregon Convention Center

Celebrating its 5th year, the 2008 InnoTech Oregon event presented by EasyStreet and the Software Association of Oregon (SAO), is shaping up to be another outstanding program. The 2008 event, once again, will be the region’s largest business-to-business technology and innovation conference and expo. Held at the Oregon Convention Center, InnoTech is the region's premier annual event highlighting Oregon and SW Washington’s innovation and technology development opportunities. InnoTech is built for business and technology executives, guided and directed by executives in Oregon and SW Washington. As you would expect, most of the attendees are from Oregon and Washington; however, each year professionals from a growing number of states, including Idaho, California, New York, Texas and Georgia attend. InnoTech is your best, local opportunity to get national caliber education, experience the latest technology products and services and network with other business and technology professionals.

Focus on education, networking and exhibition of latest technologies
InnoTech was conceived five years ago as a forum for the region’s CIOs, business executives, entrepreneurs, line-of-business VPs, managers/directors of IT departments, network managers, systems/business analysts, web developers/designers, CSOs, CISOs, CTOs and researchers to gather in Portland to see the latest products and solutions to support their businesses. InnoTech’s consistent focus on quality education, plentiful networking opportunities and exhibition of the latest technology innovations and solutions has been the key to InnoTech’s success. “As presenting sponsor of InnoTech, EasyStreet is excited to be such a big part of what has become the premiere, must-attend technology event for Oregon. In one focused day of exhibits, we are able to meet face-to-face with many of our current clients in addition to generating new business. InnoTech is a fun, positive way to keep EasyStreet in the forefront of what’s happening in technology,” says Rich Bader, president of EasyStreet Online Services.

Over the past five years, InnoTech has expanded to include special events such as the eMarketing Summit (developed for marketing professionals wanting to increase their use of online marketing techniques and services), the Open Source Summit and the CIO Summit (an exclusive gathering of the region’s top IT professionals). The 2008 Oregon CIO Summit chairperson is Ben Berry, CIO, Oregon Department of Transportation and the first CIO Summit Advisory Council meeting will be held in mid-November. Last year, InnoTech introduced the highly successful Developer’s Track, featuring interactive discussions on Agile, Ruby and more. On April 16-17, 2008, look for even more of the quality educational sessions, hands on exhibits and unlimited networking opportunities that you have come to expect from InnoTech.

Nominations available soon for IT Executive of the Year award
Of course, there are some InnoTech special events that have become annual traditions. The annual IT Executives of the Year awards hosted by SIM-Oregon Chapter, recognize the top IT professionals in the region and celebrate their contributions to their organizations and the IT community. The 2007 winners of this prestigious award were Ben Berry, CIO, ODOT (Public Sector) and Dennis Sato, CIO, Salem Regional Health Services (Private Sector). Nomination forms for the 2008 awards will be available by December 1st at www.innotechoregon.com. For more information on how to nominate an outstanding IT professional, please visit www.simnet.org . And, don’t forget the InnoTech Happy 45-Minutes (held inside the exhibit hall), a fun, energetic, networking opportunity that has also become a favorite of InnoTech participants. The open exchange of ideas, interactive networking and creative energy that is so prevalent at InnoTech’s Happy Hour and throughout the entire event sets InnoTech apart.

New Brain Party kicks off the event season
In fact, to further develop the networking and social opportunities that InnoTech does so well, InnoTech is excited to kick-off the 2008 event season, in conjunction with SAO, with the first annual Brain Party. The Brain Party will take place on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at BackSpace in downtown Portland. In addition to being a fun, networking event for technology professionals in the region, the Brain Party is your initial “sneak peek” into the 2008 InnoTech program, what’s new, and how you can get involved early to make the most of your participation in the event. The Brain Party is more than just a networking event. It will include music, food, several interactive stations and main stage activities including the Dating Game – Geek Edition and several other surprises. To attend this special event, please contact Ericka.katz@sao.org.
